Patrick Brown, MBA, is a passionate advocate for financial literacy, particularly within the world of sports. With a background in financial planning, insurance, and investment strategies, Patrick has dedicated his career to helping athletes, their families, and those who support them navigate the complex financial landscape that comes with high-level sports.
His journey into financial literacy began from personal experience. As a former University of Kansas football player and CFL athlete for the Calgary Stampeders, Patrick saw firsthand how many athletes—especially young ones—struggled with managing their finances, handling contracts, and preparing for life beyond sports. Recognizing this gap, he committed himself to providing essential financial education to athletes, parents, and professionals who influence their careers.
Our Mission
At Parents of Pro Athletes, we understand that when an athlete goes pro, the entire family is impacted. Parents often serve as the first line of financial and emotional support, yet many are unprepared for the challenges that come with their child’s career in professional sports. Our mission is to provide parents with the knowledge, resources, and community they need to help their athlete make smart financial decisions, avoid common pitfalls, and prepare for a stable future.

Why We Do This
Too many athletes struggle with financial instability after their playing days are over. By educating parents, coaches, and the athletes themselves, we strive to change this narrative.
